NibQuest: Kids Math & Reading ("NibQuest") is a learning app for children aged 3 to 13, for iPhone, iPad and Android. It is made by TwoLogPI Apps ("we", "us"), the trading name of Ramesh Adapa, an individual developer.
For kids: NibQuest keeps your name and your progress on this device. We don't see them, and nobody else does. If you have a question, ask a grown-up to read this page with you.
Summary for grown-ups
- Your child's nickname, learning group, optional birth month and year, and learning progress stay on your device. We never receive them.
- NibQuest has no ads, no tracking, no usage analytics, no accounts and no notifications. It doesn't use an advertising ID.
- NibQuest works offline. It connects to the internet only for NibQuest Family, the optional paid plan, and only after a grown-up opens it behind the grown-ups check.
- When it does connect, it sends an anonymous purchase ID and purchase details to the App Store or Google Play and to RevenueCat, our purchase service. It sends nothing about your child.
Information that stays on your device
NibQuest stores the following in its private storage on your device:
- each explorer's nickname, picture (an emoji avatar) and grown-up-selected learning group;
- birth month and year, only if a grown-up chooses to provide them (we never ask for a birth day), which can be removed later in the profile editor;
- settings;
- learning progress: activities played, answers, hints used, time spent and skills mastered.
NibQuest uses this information only to choose the next activity and to show you the progress report. It is never sent to us or anyone else, never used for advertising, and never used to diagnose or label your child. Optional birth details suggest a starting group; they never move a child to older lessons automatically.
- Backups: NibQuest's data is excluded from device and cloud backups.
- Speech: instructions are read aloud with voices installed on your device (Apple's on-device voices on iPhone and iPad, an offline text-to-speech voice on Android). NibQuest never records audio and doesn't use a cloud speech service.
- Sharing and export: in the grown-ups area you can send progress to another device, export it to a file, share a progress summary, or save a learning-record spreadsheet, always with an app or location you choose. A full progress file includes the optional birth month and year if provided; summaries and learning records don't. These happen only when you start them, and the data goes only where you send it.
- Trial reminder: during a free trial you can ask for a reminder. NibQuest hands your calendar a ready-made event with only the trial's end date and how to cancel; you decide whether to save it. NibQuest can't read your calendar.
- Deleting: you can delete one explorer, or all data, in the grown-ups area. Uninstalling NibQuest also deletes everything stored on the device.
Information that leaves your device (NibQuest Family only)
NibQuest connects to the internet only after a grown-up opens NibQuest Family behind the grown-ups check: to view the plans, buy or restore. While the app stays open after that, it may check the purchase status again. Once a purchase has been made or restored on a device, NibQuest also checks it each time it opens, so renewals and cancellations apply. On a device where this never happens, NibQuest makes no internet connections.
- Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) handles payments under Apple's privacy policy or Google's privacy policy. We don't receive your payment details. The store gives us the transaction records we need for accounting and refunds, such as the order number, product, price and country.
- RevenueCat, Inc. verifies purchases and keeps NibQuest Family working on our behalf, as our service provider (data processor). It receives: an anonymous purchase ID created on the device the first time NibQuest Family is opened; purchase details (product, price, currency, purchase and renewal dates, trial status, and the store's transaction record or purchase token); basic technical details (app and operating-system version, preferred language and store country); which plans screen was shown and whether it led to a purchase; and the device's IP address, which any internet connection reveals.
RevenueCat doesn't receive your child's name or learning data, or an advertising ID. We don't send it names, email addresses or device identifiers. It may use this data only to provide its service to us, under a data processing agreement.
We use this information only to provide NibQuest Family and keep it working, to prevent fraud, to meet tax and accounting duties, and to see, in total, how many purchases each plans screen leads to. We don't sell or share personal information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising or profiling.
Children's privacy (COPPA)
NibQuest is directed to children under 13. The only personal information NibQuest collects from children is a persistent identifier: the anonymous purchase ID, together with the device's IP address. It is collected only after a grown-up opens NibQuest Family, and NibQuest collects no other personal information.
We collect and use that identifier solely to support NibQuest's internal operations, which the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) allows without parental consent: to process, verify and maintain NibQuest Family purchases, to protect against fraud, and to understand how the purchase screens work. We never use or disclose it to contact anyone, to build a profile of a child, or for advertising. It goes only to RevenueCat and to Apple or Google for these purposes. A parent can ask us to delete purchase records at any time (see Your choices and rights).
Legal bases (EU and UK)
Under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, we process personal data on these legal bases:
- Contract: to provide a purchase that a grown-up asked for.
- Legal obligation: to keep transaction records.
- Legitimate interests: to prevent fraud and to measure, in aggregate, how the plans screens perform. The data involved is minimal and pseudonymous, and is never used for profiling.
NibQuest doesn't ask children for consent; purchases are made by grown-ups behind the grown-ups check. RevenueCat stores data in the United States. Transfers from the EEA and UK are protected by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses in our agreement with RevenueCat.
How long we keep information
Information stored on your device stays there until you delete it or uninstall NibQuest.
| Information | Purpose | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|
| Purchase records | Provide the purchase, and meet tax and accounting duties | While the purchase is active, then 7 years; then we delete them |
| Records from devices that opened the plans but never bought | Show the plans | Deleted within 12 months of the device's last check |
| Launch-notice emails you send us from this website | Tell you when NibQuest is available | Until we send that notice, then deleted. Ask anytime and we delete it sooner |
Security
- All connections are encrypted (HTTPS).
- Access to our App Store Connect, Google Play and RevenueCat accounts is restricted and protected by two-step verification.
- We review these safeguards at least once a year.
Your choices and rights
- Device data: delete an explorer or all data in the grown-ups area, or uninstall NibQuest. See Delete your data.
- Purchase records: email [email protected] with your order number: on Apple, the order ID from your App Store receipt email; on Google Play, the order number starting with "GPA.". We will delete the matching RevenueCat records unless we must keep them by law.
- Subscriptions: cancel any time in your Apple Account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions) or in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.
Depending on where you live, you may also have these rights:
- EEA and UK: access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and portability, and the right to complain to your data protection authority.
- California: to know about and delete personal information. We don't sell or share personal information.
- India: access, correction, erasure and grievance redressal under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act.
To use any of these rights, contact us at the address below. We don't discriminate against anyone for using their rights.
Changes
If NibQuest's use of data changes, we will update this policy and its effective date before the change takes effect, and describe the change in the app's release notes.
